Birthing Support and Courses in Guelph
Bringing a baby into your life can feel exciting and a little overwhelming—whether you’re hoping to conceive, preparing for birth, or settling in after baby arrives. With Dr. Alyssa Shepherd, you’ll find warm, whole‑person guidance that honors your body, your baby, and your values. Dr. Alyssa offers thoughtful consultations so you feel heard and informed. Care is unique to you and draws on the mind‑body connection for practical steps.
Support from Preconception to Postpartum
Dr. Alyssa meets with individuals seeking a deeper, spiritual connection with their unborn or not-yet-conceived baby and clarity on preparing the body for conception. During pregnancy, support can include bodywork and exercises to support your physical body, nutritional and emotional support, guidance on bonding and connecting with Baby before birth, help with birth plans, and information to navigate the medical system. When stress patterns arise, Dr. Alyssa may use Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), a gentle mind‑body chiropractic method using muscle testing, meridian points, and breathing to help release stuck stress.
Her trainings and experiences as a chiropractor, Level 2 NET practitioner, birth doula, traditional birth companion and certified pre- and perinatal educator, give Dr. Alyssa a very whole-person approach – to support Mom, Baby and the whole family during this special time.
After birth, she checks in on comfort, recovery, feeding dynamics, and nervous system regulation for parent and baby.
Considering Birth Attendance
If you’d like caring, in‑person support during labor, you can explore having Dr. Alyssa attend your birth. As a former doula and a trained birth companion, she attends a small number of births each year. Her role centers on presence, comfort measures, respect for your wishes, and practical holistic support.
